Veracity Energy Services Ltd. employs a management and operations team with an average of over 25 years experience in Western Canada. We are comprised of primarily independent contractors and can adjust to increased demand. With our increasing volume of regular clients, receivers and purchasers, Veracity has the capability to scale based on the needs of the client. Most Project Managers at Veracity have an extensive network of trusted hands/personnel and service providers, utilized over the years that can be available for upcoming projects. Veracity also has office administration/accounting/land support to cope with fluctuating workloads.
MANAGEMENT
Gary Gwartney, P.Eng
President
Mr. Gwartney P. Eng., Engineering Consultant is a professional engineer that brings over 30 years professional engineering experience in all areas of Oil and Gas operations and exploitation. Mr. Gwartney has domestic and international experience in operations, facility construction, drilling, completions, joint ventures, exploitation and property evaluation for acquisitions. In addition to his technical background, Mr. Gwartney has management experience in small to intermediate sized Canadian producers and was a founder and director of a Canadian junior capital pool corporation. Mr. Gwartney graduated from the University of Alberta with a BSc. in Mechanical Engineering in 1988 and is a Professional Engineer in good standing in the Province of Alberta.
Ryan Hodak, DBA
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Hodak has over 24 years of experience in the energy sector as both Production Superintendent and Field Site Supervisor. His oil and gas career has been very diverse, responsible for field operations, facility construction projects, optimization projects, and compliance programs. Mr. Hodak specializes in the management and optimization of field operations and rotary equipment. Mr. Hodak’s initial experience included work in the exploration and service sector of the oil and gas industry. He was an integral part of expanding Pason Systems growth into Mexico, dividing his time between Northern Alberta and Mexico. Mr. Hodak later transitioned to the production side of the industry, overseeing both large and small properties for multiple oil and gas companies. Mr. Hodak also has field supervision experience with both surface and subsurface equipment that includes pump jack sets, various wireline work, and service rig work. He has been site supervisor for workovers and construction projects in British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan. Mr. Hodak has comprehensive knowledge of regulatory and safety protocols and requirements. He has significant experience interacting with regulatory bodies in Western Canada (OGC, AER, and SIR) and fully understands and manages integrity programs such as PIM, POM, along with ABSA and other initiatives such as EPAP.
Wendy Woolsey, CPA, CA
Chief Executive Officer
Ms. Woolsey has over 25 years of experience in the Canadian oil and gas industry. She was Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Yoho Resources Inc. from 2005 to 2016. Prior thereto, she held various senior roles, where areas of responsibility included financial and corporate reporting, tax, treasury and capital markets, operational accounting, and business analysis, including Manager of Finance at Baytex Energy and Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Symmetry Resources Inc. Ms. Woolsey has been a Chartered Accountant since 1991 and graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Commerce degree.
Roger Moore, has over 45 years of experience in the petroleum industry. His experience started at the field level in operations then migrated into consulting prior to starting his business. Mr. Moore is a true entrepreneur, having founded companies in a variety of oil and gas related areas; all of which he has since sold. Mr. Moore founded Trigil Energy in 1985 as an operating and downhole consulting company. However, Trigil quickly branched out into construction, completion, pipeline/facility, operation project management and field supervision. In 2008 Trigil and Candor Corp. amalgamated to form Veracity Energy Services. He continues to advise clients regarding projects throughout Canada, the United States and Mexico.
Mark Wilneff, brings over 40 years of experience in the petroleum sector with a specific expertise in field operations as well as pipeline and facilities experience. Mr. Wilneff’s career includes several years of operations and managerial experience ranging from majors to intermediate and junior companies. He has worked on gas, oil and heavy oil projects throughout the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin and has helped design and manages virtually every type of production regimen from SAGD to high volume lift, sour gas and acid gas facilities. Mark has been directly involved in over 100 field, corporate and technical due diligence evaluations.

Paul Mullen, Engineering Technologist
Field Operations Manager
Mr. Mullen, Operations Manager brings over 25 years of experience in the chemical and petroleum sector with a specific expertise in field operations as well as pipeline, facilities and well workover experience. Mr. Mullen’s career includes several years of operations and managerial experience ranging from intermediate to junior companies. Mr. Mullen has personally owned an oil and gas company which gives him a grounded and realistic perspective on the needs of Veracity clients. Mr. Mullen also brings a wealth of knowledge regarding safety and regulatory compliance and is up to date on all aspects of good oilfield practice. Mr. Mullen graduated from N.A.I.T. in 1995, Chemical Engineering Technology and has a 4th Class Power Engineering certificate.
Doug Bauman, Engineering Technologist
Field Operations Manager
Mr. Bauman has 40+ years of diverse oil and gas experience. He started his career as an operator with major oil and gas companies such as Gulf Canada and Amoco Canada. At Amoco he advanced to a senior operator level where he obtained his Third Class Power Engineering. Mr. Bauman then received his Petroleum Engineering Technologist from SAIT. He worked at several intermediate and smaller companies as an Engineering Technologist. His experience then moved him into various Production Superintendent roles. He also worked as an Operation Manager for various companies in both a consulting and employee role. He is the co-founder of a small oil and gas company that was built up and sold. Mr. Bauman has worked in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba and has dealt with regulatory agencies in all these provinces. He has also supervised pipeline and facility construction projects. He has supervised all aspects of workover and completion work on sweet and sour wells.
Lane Harris,
Field Operations Manager
Mr. Harris, Production Superintendent / Field Site Supervisor, has over 38 years of oilfield experience. His experience has been with large, intermediate and small E&P companies. With these operations he has progressed from the operator role, foreman role, and into the Field Superintendent role where he currently resides. He has managed multiple fields across the Western Sedimentary Basin. Some of his duties included cost controls, field troubleshooting and mentoring, operator staffing, management of ABSA vessels, direct interaction with AER and SEM regulatory bodies, and experience dealing with First Nations. His production experience includes work in light Viking oil production, heavy sour oil, shallow gas and deep high pressure gas in the foothills. Lane also has experience with facility design, procurement and construction, from simple single well batteries to multi-well oil and gas facilities, and pipelines. As well he has downhole servicing experience, new well completions, stimulations and R&M activities. He also has experience with an oilfield chemical company providing well stimulations and downhole product placement programs
Darren Zander, P.Eng
Completions Manager
Mr. Zander, P.Eng. graduated from the University of Alberta in 1992. Since graduating Darren has gained practical experience while working within the service industry. Darren has also held various positions in production and completion engineering with major oil and gas companies. Darren’s production and completion engineering experience includes oil and gas wells ranging in depths from 200 m to 4000 m, both sweet and critical sour. Darren is a Professional Engineer in good standing with the Province of Alberta.
Rob Ellis, P.Eng
Project Manager
Mr. Ellis, P. Eng., is a professional engineer who brings over 28 years of engineering experience in all areas of oil and gas operations and exploitation. Mr. Ellis has worked extensively on many heavy and medium oil projects including conventional and waterflood recovery schemes. His experience includes operations, facility construction, completions, exploitation, and property evaluation for acquisitions. In addition to his technical background, Mr. Ellis has management experience in small to intermediate sized Canadian oil and gas companies. Rob graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 1991 with a B.Sc. ME and is a professional engineer in good standing with APEGA.
Naomi Wiebe, P.Geo
Geological Consultant
Ms. Wiebe, P.Geo, Geological Consultant, has over 17 years of experience in the petroleum industry with 12 years working for major companies (Talisman Energy Inc., Apache Canada Ltd.) and over 5 years working as a Geological consultant. Ms. Wiebe has an M.Sc. in Geology with a focus on Carbonate Sedimentology, has participated in over 25 petroleum industry training courses locally and internationally and is a published author in the CSPG Bulletin*. She obtained her B.Sc. Honours in Geology from the University of Saskatchewan in 1999 and her M.Sc. in Geology from the University of Manitoba in 2002. Ms. Wiebe brings a wealth of experience from a wide variety of oil and gas plays including; carbonate and clastic reservoirs, exploration and development, horizontal multilateral/multifrac development, secondary and tertiary EOR schemes, and acquisitions/divestitures. Ms. Wiebe’s particular expertise lies in Devonian carbonates (Slave Point, Keg River, Nisku, Leduc), Cretaceous clastic reservoirs (Viking, Mannville), comprehensive core studies, development of facies models, production of high quality geological maps, and thorough geological assessments. Ms. Wiebe is a professional member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) and also carries a Permit to Practice for her consulting practice.
Tony Berthelet, P.Eng, PMP
Project Manager
Mr. Berthelet, P.Eng., PMP is a professional engineer with over 25 years of experience in variety of technical and leadership roles covering all aspects of the Oil and Gas Industry. Mr. Berthelet has held CEO and Director positions at two publicly traded companies and has extensive experience in corporate restructuring and insolvency work. He has worked in all areas of upstream energy development, but has focused on reserves, water flood & enhanced oil recovery, production and operations engineering. He has worked extensively on International and Canadian projects in all of these areas. Mr. Berthelet has a Bachelor of Science (Geologic Engineering) from the University of Saskatchewan, is a member in good standing with the Association of Professional Engineers & Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) and with Project management Institute (PMI). He is a long standing member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).
